Mission Statement

Buddhism originated in India and spread to Southeast Asia, Europe and consequently to America in the late 1800’s. In a society where technology is advancing at an unpredictable rate, the Dharma remains a important element in the spiritual life of Buddhist’s living in the United States.

Americans who haven take refuge in the Buddha, carry the aspiration of taking his teachings and applying them to their daily lives. The Buddha’s teachings remain relevant to our time and situation, they are not just a set of principles or dogmatic imperatives. The International Buddhist Education Center is sensitive to the struggles young people are facing in the 21st century and wish to establish a center where Buddhist teachings and practices are taught in English.

In the spirit of Buddhist equanimity, we welcome everyone regardless of ethnic or religious background who wish to offer a helping hand in building this center and making it a meaningful place of teaching, learning and practice.

Wholeheartedly we ask our most venerable monks and nuns to send us their energy and support, so that we may see this project to completion. We ask for the support of all of our lay friends, spiritually as well as financially, so that we may establish this center and offer a place of refuge for young people who wish to live an awakened life.

We respectfully wish our most venerable monks and nuns good health so they may continue to help all living beings find peace and happiness.
